Art has always been a means of expression for me. Whether it was putting charcoal to paper, sculpting clay, or making a trippy video edit with symbolism that represented deep emotions I couldn't verbalize. As far back as I can remember, I love art as much as I love family. As my biggest critic and no matter how many art shows attended, I didn't see myself as an artist who can make a living doing what I love. I've been asked to do artwork for specific brands, musicians, etc., but never have I ever created something completely for myself (to work through some emotional stuff) and share to the public, let alone open a shop. But I did it. Maybe it was because of the tough times we are living in. Maybe it had to do with a need to distract myself from a painful ending I was forced to make in 2021. I made a handful of experimental/abstract pieces that each represent something very significant to my life up until this new era. However, I really didn't expect t0 feel the way that I do. A feeling I haven't had in a really long time; alive. I can't say that my shop is just blowing up because I just launched a few days ago and my profit margins aren't super impressive. But, I'm so inspired to create more and grow into bigger things. I know that I have all of the skills to grow and develop myself as an artist. It's going to have to be part-time-part-time for now. I have a lot on my plate right now. But to implement this into my life is such a positive change. I can only grow from here.
